I've been looking to review a beer which could be seen as appropriate for a "Christmas Special.“ I noticed an interesting Porter prodced by the guys at Garden Brewery, which is actually quite a rare beer today and even I, being from Zagreb, struggled to find. I did, however, finally see it in a shop and of course had to give it a try.
The Can says: "Rested on Vanilla and Cacao Nibs, Velvet on the tounge“
It pours a clear dark-brown colour with a fizzy, thin, dark and beige head. The ABV stands at 6,7% which in my opinion is the right amount for it not to take a dominant note in the beer. It has a nice aroma dominated by Vanilla with hints of cocoa powder, coffee, and dark chocolate. It has a moderate taste followed by a heavy sweetnes with touches of coffee and vanilla, ending with a dark chocolate aftertaste.
It's a medium, well balanced beer with soft carbonation which makes it a nice choice for winter days and would perfectly accompany a chocolate desert of any kind!
